Then please search for a request in your town and either respond to a 'I Need a Neighbour' thread or find the right forum thread titled ' and write your title and body in the following way:

eg/ ' SW6 London, dog walking, supply collection, mail delivery etc. Has car. Avail Mon-Thurs'

followed by something like:

No. I'm Your Neighbour is an independent chat and forum website for global communities. It is the brainchild of me, Georgie, a London girl who just wanted to help when I saw the world around me consumed in panic, fear and increasing loneliness. I found there was a lot of people wanting to help others but no idea how to do this and a lot of people needing help but no idea where to go. We are in no way a medical site and are not qualified to provide or host any medical advice. Please visit your local government site for specific questions or details on COVID-19.

There are a lot of ways you can help people without physically interacting and by using online methods.

If offering to pick up groceries, medication, pick up/deliver mail, walk someones pet then you must be aware of current government protocols. Please check this regularly as they are changing daily. What we know as constants are; Do not physically touch anyone, wear gloves, wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap, wear a face mask, leave items in a safe place for those who are self-isolating.

Don't underestimate how many people feel depressed, lonely or scared every day let alone when something as strange and frightening as COVID-19 takes place. There are so many people who have no loved ones around them or no one to take care of them.

This is an opportunity to love one another.

You may want to connect to one another by starting an online book club, a film club, find health & wellness partners to do Yoga, Pilates or Meditation sessions via Skype with. You might be looking for a gaming partner, find a fellow entrepreneur to share ideas with, or just be a friendly ear for someone who is isolated and wants to chat!

We have set up a Members Chat where you can start private one-to-one conversations or group chats. There are forum threads where you can post the ways in which you can help your fellow neighbours or receive help in return. Also a thread to chat and another to start a new club or share in a common interest!

IYN is a volunteer peer to peer site and is not run by medical professionals. If you are unsure of your symptoms or need medical advice we recommend you visit the NHS website or contact your local doctor. Please be diligent and informed in your research as the government and local requirements change daily.

No. This is a free forum and chat website and all people who register as 'Neighbourhood Volunteers' are doing so as volunteers. This is created as a place to bring people and their communities together. We do not tolerate or support any requests for payments.

We encourage individuals who connect via the chat or forum to not give out your credit card information, volunteers should not accept this information and instead, to reduce theft or fraud, we suggest you either provide groceries or shopping for free or you buy the products and then return to the individual in self-isolation/ relevant organisation with a receipt. Volunteers not to accept credit/debit cards from people asking for help in order to buy resources on their behalf as this is a safeguarding risk.

To reduce the risk of fraud, we recommend that wherever possible you do your shopping and come back with a receipt before asking for money from people in self-isolation. Please keep note and records of purchases made in case of any discrepancies. If someone is infected or assumed to be infected with the virus we recommend using Paypal as a safer option.

Always ask about allergies, do not substitute food without written permission and please handle everything with gloves or fully sanitise any cash/ food/ bags before giving or receiving.
